Virtual respiratory care across Canada

Virtual CPAP Therapy Across Canada

Personalized CPAP setup, home sleep testing, insurance support and ongoing clinical monitoring—all from the comfort of home.

Finding the right CPAP machine involves more than choosing a device from an online catalogue. Your pressure requirements, type of sleep-disordered breathing, mask fit, humidification needs, comfort preferences and travel requirements can all affect whether treatment is successful.

SleepEZ Home Health provides a complete virtual CPAP therapy program for eligible patients in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

A guided therapy pathway

A Complete Virtual CPAP Clinic—Delivered to Your Home

SleepEZ combines the convenience of an online CPAP provider with the clinical support of a respiratory therapy clinic.

From home sleep testing and personalized equipment selection to mask trialing, remote monitoring, therapy optimization and physician reporting, our team helps coordinate the entire process.

Rather than sending every patient the same CPAP machine and mask, we tailor the setup according to the individual.

You focus on becoming comfortable with your therapy. We help take care of the clinical details.

Your virtual CPAP program may include:

  • Home sleep apnea testing
  • Virtual consultation with a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Personalized CPAP or BiPAP machine selection
  • Virtual mask fitting and facial measurements
  • CPAP mask trial support
  • Remote therapy monitoring
  • Pressure and comfort optimization
  • Troubleshooting and acclimatization support
  • Physician reports following clinically meaningful changes
  • Insurance documentation and eligible direct billing
  • Ongoing clinical follow-up
How it works

Our Virtual CPAP Program

Your setup is selected according to your prescription, sleep-study results, therapy requirements, comfort preferences and lifestyle.

Submit Your Prescription or Arrange a Home Sleep Test

Patients who already have a valid prescription can submit it through our secure medical intake process.

The intake form is included in your appointment confirmation email and should be completed before your consultation so our clinical team can review your information in advance.

Patients who have not yet completed testing may be eligible for a home sleep apnea test.

The appropriate testing pathway depends on your symptoms, medical history, province, insurer requirements and the type of sleep disorder being investigated.

Learn More About Home Sleep Testing

Meet Virtually With Our Team of Registered Respiratory Therapists

During your virtual consultation, we review your sleep study, prescription, symptoms, therapy goals and any previous experience with CPAP therapy.

Your consultation may include a discussion of:

Sleep apnea severity Obstructive apneas Hypopneas Central events Pressure requirements Mouth breathing Nasal congestion Dryness and humidity Sleeping position Travel needs Previous CPAP concerns Mask intolerance Claustrophobia Facial hair Sensitive skin

This helps us understand which machine, mask and comfort settings are most likely to support successful therapy.

Receive a CPAP Machine Selected for Your Needs

There is no single CPAP machine that is best for every patient. We consider the features that matter to you alongside the clinical requirements of your prescription.

Your machine recommendation may be based on:

  • Prescribed pressure range
  • Higher-pressure therapy requirements
  • Humidification preference
  • Portability and travel
  • Screen size and ease of use
  • Noise preference
  • Data and remote-monitoring capability
  • Comfort features
  • Warranty and long-term support
  • Budget and insurance allowance

Our goal is to provide a machine that fits your actual needs, rather than automatically placing every patient on the same model.

Virtual mask fitting

A New-Era Approach to CPAP Mask Trialing

A CPAP machine can only work effectively when the mask is comfortable enough to wear and stable enough to maintain a reliable seal.

Choosing a mask based only on a product image or general size chart often leads to discomfort, leakage and unnecessary purchases.

After your consultation, facial measurements and general assessment, our clinical team may recommend up to three suitable masks as starting options.

What “up to three masks” means: This does not mean every patient automatically receives three masks. It means our team may identify up to three appropriate options to guide the trial process and improve the likelihood of finding a mask suited to you.

The goal is not simply to find a mask that technically fits. The goal is to find a mask you can comfortably use throughout the night.

Book a Virtual Mask Fitting

Our virtual mask assessment considers:

Facial measurements
Nose width and shape
Nostril size
Facial structure
Mouth breathing
Sleeping position
Side sleeping
Facial hair
Skin sensitivity
Claustrophobia
Pressure requirements
Previous mask experiences
Mobility limitations
Dexterity limitations
Connected therapy

Remote CPAP Monitoring

Compatible CPAP and BiPAP machines can transmit therapy information for remote clinical review.

Depending on the machine, prescription and available data, our clinical team may be able to review:

  • Nightly usage
  • Residual apnea-hypopnea index
  • Obstructive events
  • Central events
  • Mask leakage
  • Pressure response
  • Therapy interruptions
  • Breathing patterns
  • Comfort-related concerns

Remote monitoring can help us identify potential issues without waiting weeks or months for an in-person follow-up.

In many cases, data may begin becoming available after the first night of use, depending on the machine, connectivity and manufacturer platform.

Not every machine supports the same remote functions. Setting adjustments depend on machine capability, connectivity, prescription parameters and clinical appropriateness.

Comfort and effectiveness

Pressure Optimization and Titration Support

Starting CPAP therapy is not always as simple as turning on the machine.

Patients may experience:

  • Air hunger
  • Difficulty exhaling
  • Excessive pressure
  • Dry mouth or nasal dryness
  • Mask leakage
  • Aerophagia or swallowed air
  • Frequent awakenings
  • Residual breathing events
  • Difficulty falling asleep with therapy
  • Pressure intolerance
  • Anxiety around the mask or airflow

Our team reviews your experience alongside the available therapy data. When appropriate and permitted, we may optimize comfort settings or recommend changes for physician review.

The objective is to improve:

Comfort Consistency Mask seal Therapy effectiveness Nightly usage Long-term acclimatization
Closed-loop respiratory care

Physician Reporting

CPAP care should not operate separately from the prescribing physician.

When prescription-related changes or clinically meaningful therapy updates occur, SleepEZ can prepare a report for the prescribing physician.

Reports may include:

  • Current usage
  • Therapy response
  • Residual breathing events
  • Mask leakage
  • Patient-reported concerns
  • Pressure or comfort-setting changes
  • Recommendations
  • Follow-up plan

This helps close the communication loop between the patient, respiratory therapy provider and physician.

Our goal is to reduce gaps in care and ensure that meaningful therapy decisions are properly documented.

Testing and therapy programs

Home Sleep Test and Trial-Fee Credits

Eligible home sleep testing or CPAP trial fees may be credited toward a finalized CPAP package when the patient completes the applicable therapy program through SleepEZ.

This should not be interpreted as an automatic cash refund for every patient, test, trial or service.

How the credit generally works: A qualifying amount may be applied toward an eligible finalized CPAP or BiPAP equipment package instead of being issued as a separate cash refund.

Patients should review the applicable program terms before beginning home sleep testing or trial therapy.

Eligibility may depend on:

  • The specific home sleep test or trial program
  • Completion of the required testing or trial process
  • Finalization of eligible equipment through SleepEZ
  • Timely return of trial equipment
  • Prescription requirements
  • Insurance requirements
  • Program timelines
  • Eligible products and package requirements
  • Applicable exclusions and terms
Insurance assistance

Eligible Direct Billing Through TELUS Health eClaims

SleepEZ Home Health participates in TELUS Health eClaims for eligible CPAP equipment, services and participating benefit plans.

Electronic claim eligibility depends on the patient’s individual plan, province, insurer requirements, prescription, sleep-study documentation and available benefits.

Private benefit plans

Participating administrators may include:

Medavie Blue Cross Manulife Manion Canada Life Private Plans GroupSource RWAM Insurance Administrators GroupHEALTH Benefit Solutions
Federal programs

We may also assist eligible members associated with:

Veterans Affairs Canada Royal Canadian Mounted Police Canadian Armed Forces Medavie Blue Cross Federal Plans

Direct billing must be verified for every individual plan.

Direct billing is not guaranteed simply because an insurer appears on this page. Coverage and electronic claim eligibility may depend on the employer plan, province, prescription, diagnostic testing, benefit maximums, replacement schedules, prior authorization and coordination of benefits.

Canada Life electronic billing may be available for eligible private plans but may not apply to every public, government-sponsored or restricted plan.

Patients remain responsible for any portion not paid by their insurer.

What Documents Might Insurance Require?

Requirements vary by insurer and individual benefit plan.

Some insurers require specific testing methods, severity thresholds, provider qualifications, prescription wording or equipment codes before considering a CPAP claim.

Our team can help prepare documentation available within our scope, but the final coverage decision is made by the insurer.

A valid CPAP or BiPAP prescription
A diagnostic sleep-study report
A physician interpretation
A detailed equipment invoice
A letter of medical necessity
Proof of CPAP trial
A compliance or usage report

Important Information for Ontario Residents

The national virtual CPAP program described on this page does not apply to Ontario residents using an Ontario health card.

Ontario CPAP funding and private-insurance processes are affected by the Assistive Devices Program, commonly known as ADP. This requires a province-specific assessment, prescription, authorization and dispensing process.

OHIP and ADP are not the same program. OHIP provides provincial healthcare coverage, while ADP may contribute toward eligible CPAP or BiPAP equipment when its requirements are met.

Ontario residents who wish to participate in the ADP funding of $415.50 for CPAP Therapy and $712.50 for BiPAP therapy, should use the Ontario-specific CPAP pathway, though are welcome to inquire how we can assist with insurance navigation and fast-tracking therapy.

Prefer a Lower-Cost, DIY CPAP Setup?

Not every patient requires a fully managed clinical program.

Patients who already understand their therapy needs, have the required prescription and do not require clinical trialing, titration or ongoing monitoring may prefer a lower-cost online CPAP bundle.

The self-directed pathway may not include the same level of consultation, mask trialing, remote optimization, physician reporting, insurance assistance or ongoing respiratory follow-up.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I complete my CPAP setup entirely online?

Many parts of the CPAP process can be completed virtually, including consultation, equipment selection, mask fitting, education and follow-up.

Certain patients may still require an in-person assessment, laboratory testing or direct physician evaluation depending on their health history and sleep-study findings.

Do I need a prescription to purchase a CPAP machine?

A valid prescription is generally required for clinically managed CPAP or BiPAP therapy.

Insurance companies may also require a prescription and diagnostic sleep-study report before approving a claim.

Can SleepEZ direct-bill my insurance?

Eligible electronic claims may be submitted through TELUS Health eClaims for participating insurers and plans.

Eligibility must be verified individually. Being insured by a participating company does not guarantee that your specific plan covers CPAP equipment or permits direct billing.

Will insurance pay the full cost of my CPAP machine?

Coverage varies significantly. Some plans cover a percentage of the equipment cost, while others use a fixed maximum, deductible or replacement schedule.

Patients remain responsible for amounts not paid by their insurer.

Is the home sleep test free when I buy a CPAP machine?

Eligible testing fees may be credited toward a finalized CPAP package when the applicable program terms are met.

This is not automatically available for every test, patient, insurer or equipment purchase.

Are CPAP trial fees refunded?

Qualifying trial fees may be credited toward an eligible finalized CPAP package through SleepEZ.

The credit may be applied to the final equipment package rather than issued as a separate cash refund. Conditions and exclusions apply.

Will I automatically receive three CPAP masks?

No. Our clinical team may identify up to three suitable masks as starting options after reviewing facial measurements, breathing preferences and sleep habits.

The number of masks trialed depends on the patient’s needs and the applicable program.

Can you change my CPAP pressure remotely?

Certain compatible machines permit remote setting adjustments.

Adjustments depend on machine capability, connectivity, prescription parameters and clinical appropriateness. Not every machine or setting can be changed remotely.

How quickly can you see my CPAP data?

Compatible machines may begin sending data after the first night of therapy.

Data availability depends on connectivity, machine compatibility and the manufacturer’s platform.

Do you provide BiPAP therapy?

BiPAP setup and monitoring may be available for eligible patients with an appropriate prescription.

Some BiPAP therapies require more complex testing, physician involvement or in-laboratory titration.

Can you help if I already own a CPAP machine?

In some cases, we may be able to provide consultation, mask-fitting or therapy-review services.

Remote access depends on the machine model, data platform and whether the device can be connected to our clinical system.

Is this service available to Ontario patients?

The national program described on this page is not available to Ontario or OHIP patients because Ontario CPAP therapy is affected by the Assistive Devices Program process.

Ontario residents should use the Ontario-specific CPAP pathway.

Start Your Virtual CPAP Journey

CPAP therapy should not feel like a box arriving at your door with no guidance.

The correct machine, mask, pressure strategy, humidification and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference in whether treatment becomes comfortable and sustainable.

Important Coverage and Clinical Disclaimer

Coverage, reimbursement and electronic direct billing are determined by the patient’s insurer and specific benefit plan. SleepEZ cannot guarantee claim approval, benefit eligibility, reimbursement amount or insurer payment. Patients are responsible for understanding their plan and for any balance not paid by their insurer.

Virtual CPAP services may not be appropriate for every patient. Individuals with significant cardiopulmonary disease, suspected central sleep apnea, hypoventilation, complex sleep-disordered breathing, severe oxygen abnormalities or other medical concerns may require additional physician assessment or in-laboratory testing.

CPAP and BiPAP treatment must follow an appropriate prescription and applicable provincial and professional requirements.
