Is There Really a “Gold Standard” CPAP Algorithm?
ResMed AutoSet is frequently described as the benchmark for automatic CPAP therapy, largely because of its fast and highly responsive APAP algorithm.
But faster pressure response does not automatically mean better therapy for every patient. ResMed itself has developed softer response strategies, while manufacturers such as Fisher & Paykel, Löwenstein, Philips Respironics, ResVent and Yuwell have taken their own approaches to pressure control, humidification, comfort and equipment design.
