CPAP, Oxygen & Respiratory Equipment in Ottawa and Across Canada

SleepEZ Home Health is an Ottawa-based respiratory care provider offering CPAP and BiPAP therapy, home and portable oxygen concentrators, nebulizer systems, inhaler holding chambers, oxygen supplies, replacement parts and respiratory accessories.

Our clinical team supports patients throughout Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Stittsville, Gloucester, Orleans, Arnprior, Carleton Place, Renfrew and the Ottawa Valley, while our online respiratory equipment store serves patients and caregivers across Canada from coast to coast, throughout the United States, and in select international markets including the UK and Ireland.

Unlike a general medical-supply retailer, SleepEZ Home Health is a respiratory-focused practice. We help patients understand the equipment they are using, identify compatible replacement parts and accessories, maintain therapy systems over time, troubleshoot equipment concerns, and navigate applicable insurance and funding requirements.

CPAP & APAP Machines

SleepEZ Home Health carries a focused selection of CPAP and APAP systems chosen for therapy performance, comfort, serviceability, durability and long-term clinical support.

Our primary home CPAP platforms include Löwenstein prisma SMART Max, Yuwell BreathCare 3 and ResVent iBreeze.

Löwenstein prisma SMART Max

The German-made Löwenstein prisma SMART Max is a premium APAP platform offering automatic pressure adjustment, softPAP expiratory pressure relief, optional prismaAQUA humidification and connected therapy monitoring.

One of the areas that separates the prisma platform from many conventional CPAP machines is its turbine design. Löwenstein uses high-end turbine technology from Micronel AG, a Swiss manufacturer known for precision miniature blowers used in demanding medical and technical applications.

Typical CPAP machines are often discussed in terms of approximately 20,000–25,000 hours of expected operating life, while the prisma platform is designed around a substantially longer turbine service-life expectation of approximately 36,000 operating hours.

Why does that matter?

For many patients using modest pressures, almost any quality CPAP machine can perform well. However, when SleepEZ anticipates that a patient may require higher therapeutic pressures, particularly in cases involving severe obstructive sleep apnea with frequent complete or near-complete airway obstruction, turbine capability becomes more meaningful.

A full obstructive apnea represents an approximately 90% or greater reduction in airflow, often accompanied by repeated oxygen desaturation and arousal from sleep. Patients with this type of breathing pattern may require a machine to repeatedly generate and maintain higher pressures throughout the night.

For car enthusiasts, an easy comparison is asking two vehicles to travel at 120 km/h every day. Both may reach the same speed, but there is a difference between asking a smaller drivetrain to operate closer to its limits and using an engine designed to deliver that performance with greater reserve.

That is one reason SleepEZ Home Health frequently recommends Löwenstein prisma for patients expected to require higher treatment pressures or more demanding long-term therapy.

Löwenstein has a longstanding history in respiratory and sleep medicine and is particularly well established throughout European clinical environments.

SleepEZ Home Health also carries replacement filters and accessories for the prisma platform, including Löwenstein prisma fine pollen filters .

Yuwell BreathCare 3 APAP

The Yuwell BreathCare 3 APAP provides automatic CPAP therapy with heated humidification, heated tubing, comfort controls and detailed therapy reporting.

Yuwell has become an important part of the SleepEZ CPAP platform because it combines strong therapy performance with excellent equipment support and an increasingly complete respiratory ecosystem.

For patients who also travel regularly, SleepEZ Home Health can pair the BreathCare 3 with the Yuwell Pocket-X Travel CPAP, creating a home-and-travel combination within the same manufacturer ecosystem.

ResVent iBreeze

The ResVent iBreeze 2.0 APAP provides auto-adjusting positive airway pressure therapy with integrated humidification, comfort settings and remote therapy-management capabilities.

Replacement components are readily available, including ResVent heated tubing, ResVent water chambers, filters and compatible masks.

SleepEZ Home Health also supports BiPAP therapy with the ResVent iBreeze BiPAP when prescribed.

One particularly useful characteristic of the iBreeze platform is its ability to operate at a minimum pressure of 3 cmH₂O, compared with the 4 cmH₂O minimum commonly found on many other CPAP and APAP platforms.

For some patients who are very sensitive to pressure or initially struggle with the feeling of breathing against positive airway pressure, that lower starting pressure may help make adaptation easier.

The ResVent humidification system also incorporates dry-heating protection. If the water supply becomes depleted, the system is designed to protect against continued dry heating rather than simply continuing to heat an empty chamber.

Travel CPAP Machines

Travel CPAP machines provide positive-airway-pressure therapy in a much smaller package designed for air travel, road trips, cottages, camping, business travel and everyday portability.

SleepEZ Home Health carries three primary Travel CPAP platforms: Transcend Micro, Transcend Micro 510 and Yuwell Pocket-X.

All three are solid choices for patients who want a reliable, compact CPAP system without carrying a conventional full-size bedside machine.

Transcend Micro Travel CPAP

The Transcend Micro Travel CPAP is one of our preferred travel platforms for patients wanting an exceptionally small machine without sacrificing full APAP therapy.

At less than 0.5 lb and approximately 3.6 × 3.6 × 2.4 inches, the Micro easily fits into a carry-on, backpack or overnight bag.

  • Pressure range: 4–20 cmH₂O
  • Approx. 27 dBA published sound level
  • Automatic CPAP therapy
  • Automatic altitude adjustment
  • Exhalation pressure relief
  • Auto start and stop
  • Bluetooth therapy-data connectivity
  • FAA compliant
  • Standard CPAP mask compatibility
  • AirMist waterless humidification
  • Optional PowerAway battery

One of the biggest benefits of the Transcend Micro is that it does not lock the patient into a proprietary mask platform. Patients can continue using a standard nasal mask, nasal pillows or full-face CPAP mask.

Transcend Micro 510 Travel CPAP

The Transcend Micro 510 Travel CPAP builds on the original Micro platform while maintaining the same exceptionally compact travel footprint.

Like the original Micro, the Micro 510 weighs less than half a pound and provides APAP therapy from 4–20 cmH₂O.

  • Approx. 0.48 lb
  • Approx. 3.6 × 3.6 × 2.4 inches
  • 4–20 cmH₂O pressure range
  • Approx. 27 dBA
  • Standard CPAP mask compatibility
  • AirMist HME waterless humidification
  • Automatic altitude adjustment
  • Auto start and stop
  • Exhalation pressure relief
  • Therapy-data connectivity
  • FAA compliance
  • PowerAway battery compatibility
  • Multiple colour options

Yuwell Pocket-X Travel CPAP

The Yuwell Pocket-X is another exceptionally compact Travel CPAP system available through SleepEZ Home Health.

Published sound specifications place the Pocket-X within the same general category as other premium Travel CPAP systems.

However, our hands-on experience at SleepEZ Home Health has been even better than the published specification alone suggests.

In direct use, we have found the Pocket-X to be one of the quietest Travel CPAP machines we have worked with, particularly when considering not only the measured decibel level but also the frequency and character of the turbine sound.

Two machines may have similar measured decibel ratings while sounding very different when placed on the nightstand beside the patient.

Another major Pocket-X advantage is standard CPAP mask compatibility.

Patients are not required to purchase a proprietary travel-only mask. Yuwell travel-specific masks are available, but patients can continue using a standard CPAP mask they already know fits comfortably.

For patients using a Yuwell BreathCare 3 at home, the Pocket-X creates a convenient home-and-travel Yuwell therapy combination.

Portable Oxygen Concentrators

Portable oxygen concentrators allow prescribed oxygen therapy to continue while patients remain mobile at home, outdoors, during appointments and while travelling.

SleepEZ Home Health carries portable oxygen concentrators together with the batteries, chargers, columns, filters, carrying systems and replacement components required to keep them operating over the long term.

Our primary portable oxygen systems include Yuwell Spirit 6, Inogen Rove 6 and Inogen Rove 4.

Inogen Rove 6

The Inogen Rove 6 Portable Oxygen Concentrator is one of our primary portable oxygen systems.

The Rove 6 provides six pulse-dose settings in a lightweight portable platform and succeeds the previous Inogen One G5 generation.

The G5 and Rove 6 share a significant amount of their accessory ecosystem. Most importantly, the same battery platform is used by both machines.

SleepEZ Home Health carries Inogen G5 / Rove 6 batteries , including standard and extended-capacity options.

Extra batteries are especially useful for:

  • Travel
  • Long appointments
  • Day trips
  • Power outages
  • Extended time away from home
  • Backup oxygen planning

The Inogen G5 / Rove 6 External Battery Charger allows a second battery to charge independently while the concentrator remains in use.

Although the G5 and Rove 6 share many components, not every service component is identical. Filters and other replacement parts should always be ordered for the correct concentrator model.

Inogen Rove 4

For patients prioritizing low weight and portability, the Inogen Rove 4 provides another compact oxygen option.

SleepEZ Home Health carries batteries, chargers, carrying accessories, filters, power accessories and replacement columns for the Rove 4 platform.

The Inogen One G4 and Rove 4 are different generations of concentrator, so patients should not assume every internal service component is interchangeable.

Several accessories are cross-compatible, including certain:

  • Batteries
  • External battery chargers
  • Carry bags
  • Backpacks
  • DC power accessories

Model-specific components such as columns, filters and internal service parts should always be verified before ordering.

Inogen Replacement Sieve Beds / Columns

Portable oxygen concentrators do not simply store oxygen.

They draw room air into the machine and use molecular sieve material to remove nitrogen, allowing the concentrator to deliver oxygen-enriched gas to the patient.

The sieve material is contained inside replaceable columns, sometimes called sieve beds.

Unlike many internal components of a medical device, Inogen designed several of its concentrators so these columns can be replaced without replacing the entire oxygen concentrator.

Over time, these columns gradually lose efficiency.

Many patients encounter replacement somewhere around 12–18 months, although actual service life varies with:

  • Hours of use
  • Environmental humidity
  • Storage conditions
  • Operating conditions
  • Frequency of use
  • Concentrator model

The concentrator's own service indication should ultimately guide when column replacement is required.

Inogen Rove 6 / G5 Replacement Sieve Beds

Inogen Rove 4 Replacement Sieve Beds

Inogen At Home Replacement Columns

The correct column set matters because G4, Rove 4, G5/Rove 6 and Inogen At Home systems do not all use the same replacement columns.

If you are unsure which Inogen concentrator you own, contact SleepEZ Home Health before ordering. We can help identify the machine and confirm the compatible replacement components.

Stationary Oxygen Concentrators

For patients requiring continuous-flow oxygen therapy at home, SleepEZ Home Health supplies stationary oxygen concentrators designed to provide oxygen continuously for extended periods.

Our stationary oxygen platforms include Yuwell 5 L, Yuwell 10 L and Inogen At Home.

Inogen At Home Oxygen Concentrator

The Inogen At Home Oxygen Concentrator provides continuous-flow oxygen from 1–5 LPM in an unusually compact stationary concentrator.

At approximately 18 lb, it is substantially lighter than many traditional home oxygen concentrators.

This makes the Inogen At Home particularly useful for patients who want a full stationary continuous-flow oxygen system without the weight and bulk often associated with conventional home concentrators.

Yuwell 5 L Oxygen Concentrator

The Yuwell 8F-5A 5 L Oxygen Concentrator provides continuous-flow oxygen therapy up to 5 LPM.

It is designed for patients requiring dependable stationary oxygen during daytime, nighttime or extended home use as prescribed by their healthcare provider.

Yuwell 10 L Oxygen Concentrator

For patients requiring higher continuous oxygen flow, the Yuwell 8F-10 10 L Oxygen Concentrator provides adjustable continuous-flow oxygen delivery up to 10 LPM.

Yuwell is one of the world's major medical-device manufacturers, with a particularly large presence in oxygen therapy, respiratory equipment and home medical technology.

The company manufactures equipment under its own Yuwell brand while also maintaining a substantial international manufacturing and B2B presence.

Oxygen Tubing, Cannulas, Masks & Everyday Oxygen Supplies

An oxygen concentrator is only one part of an oxygen-therapy system.

Reliable therapy also depends on having the appropriate tubing, cannula, connectors, masks, filters, humidification equipment, batteries and replacement components.

SleepEZ Home Health maintains these everyday respiratory supplies so patients do not have to replace an entire system simply because a smaller component is worn out or missing.

Our Oxygen Therapy Collection includes:

  • Nasal oxygen cannulas

PARI Nebulizer Systems

Nebulizer therapy remains an important part of respiratory care for patients who require prescribed medication to be delivered as an aerosol.

SleepEZ Home Health carries PARI nebulizer systems and respiratory accessories.

PARI is a German respiratory manufacturer with more than a century of experience in inhalation therapy and a longstanding reputation in aerosol drug delivery.

PARI develops and manufactures inhalation systems in Germany with a focus on aerosol performance, durability, hygiene and long-term clinical use.

PARI PRONEB MAX Stationary Nebulizer

The PARI PRONEB MAX Aerosol Delivery System is PARI's current stationary compressor-nebulizer platform and the successor to the discontinued PARI VIOS.

The PRONEB MAX is designed for patients requiring frequent or long-term aerosol treatments at home.

It can be used with compatible PARI reusable nebulizers including the LC SPRINT and LC PLUS systems.

For patients who rely on nebulized medication every day, the PRONEB MAX offers a durable stationary compressor system designed around repeated respiratory therapy rather than occasional use.

Replacement PARI PRONEB MAX filters are also available through SleepEZ Home Health.

PARI Trek S Portable Nebulizer

The PARI Trek S with LC SPRINT brings PARI compressor-nebulizer therapy into a much smaller portable system.

The Trek S is particularly useful for:

  • Travel
  • Work
  • School
  • Cottage use
  • Day trips
  • Backup nebulizer therapy
  • Patients requiring aerosol medication away from home

The Trek S can operate using AC power, vehicle DC power or an optional rechargeable battery.

For patients and families requiring regular nebulizer therapy, pairing a PRONEB MAX for home with a Trek S for travel creates an excellent stationary-and-portable respiratory setup.

PARI PRONEB MAX vs PARI VIOS vs MedPro Compressor Nebulizer

The MedPro Compressor Nebulizer, UPC 775757054704, is included because it is a commonly available Canadian retail nebulizer and provides useful context when comparing a general-purpose compressor with PARI's respiratory-focused platforms.

SleepEZ Home Health does not currently carry the MedPro Compressor Nebulizer.

Why compare the MedPro if SleepEZ does not sell it?

The MedPro is a common Canadian retail option. The MedPro provides a complete basic kit, while the PRONEB MAX is positioned toward patients requiring frequent or long-term aerosol therapy using PARI's reusable LC nebulizer systems.

Higher compressor PSI alone does not mean better aerosol therapy. Performance depends on the compressor, nebulizer cup, airflow, medication and aerosol characteristics working together as a complete system.

Nebulizer Masks & Pediatric Respiratory Accessories

Young children and patients who cannot comfortably or reliably use a nebulizer mouthpiece may require an aerosol mask.

SleepEZ Home Health carries pediatric masks and respiratory accessories designed to make aerosol therapy easier for:

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Children
  • Patients with developmental or coordination limitations
  • Patients unable to maintain a mouthpiece seal

Proper mask fit matters because aerosolized medication can be lost when a mask does not sit comfortably and securely against the face.

PARI VORTEX Holding Chambers for Inhalers

Metered-dose inhalers require coordination between activating the inhaler and taking an effective breath.

A valved holding chamber, commonly called a spacer, reduces that coordination requirement by temporarily containing aerosolized medication so the patient can inhale more naturally.

SleepEZ Home Health carries the PARI VORTEX Non-Electrostatic Holding Chamber .

One characteristic that makes the VORTEX stand out from many conventional holding chambers is its durable antistatic metal construction.

The antistatic chamber reduces the tendency for fine medication particles to adhere to the inside walls and creates a respiratory accessory designed for repeated long-term use.

Hygiene & Cleaning

Another major advantage of the VORTEX is hygiene.

The metal chamber and compatible PARI masks can be washed in a dishwasher, and PARI also permits more intensive cleaning and disinfection methods for compatible components.

For families using holding chambers frequently, durability and the ability to thoroughly clean the system can make the VORTEX an excellent long-term respiratory accessory.

VORTEX for Infants, Toddlers & Children

The VORTEX platform can be paired with dedicated pediatric masks.

SleepEZ Home Health carries options including the PARI VORTEX Medium Pediatric Mask and PARI VORTEX Toddler Ladybug Mask .

PARI also offers mask interfaces intended for babies and young children. This allows medication from a metered-dose inhaler to be delivered through the holding chamber without requiring the child to understand or coordinate inhaler activation with a breath.

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Young children
  • Patients with limited coordination
  • Patients unable to create an effective mouthpiece seal

Why does SleepEZ like the PARI VORTEX?

Both systems are quality valved holding chambers. The VORTEX stands apart through its durable antistatic metal chamber, long-term reusable construction and excellent cleaning options. AeroChamber Flow-Vu has its own advantage through its visible breathing indicator, which can be particularly useful for parents and caregivers.

Respiratory Equipment for Veterinary Use

Respiratory disease does not only affect people.

Cats and dogs with respiratory conditions such as asthma may also be prescribed inhaled medications by their veterinarian.

Appropriate holding chambers and masks can sometimes make administration easier when veterinary aerosol therapy is prescribed.

The medication, dosage, interface and delivery method should always be determined by the treating veterinarian.

One of Our Most Unusual Ottawa-Area Respiratory Patients

Our respiratory practice has encountered some fairly unusual situations over the years.

One of the most memorable involved a one-week-old lamb experiencing respiratory distress and significant paradoxical breathing following complications at birth.

Working under the animal's care plan, inhaled Ventolin was administered using a pediatric mask positioned over the lamb's snout.

After approximately four weeks of treatment and attentive care from the farmer, the lamb was able to discontinue the inhaler and returned to normal life with the rest of the flock.

It remains one of the most unusual respiratory-equipment applications we have encountered locally.

Cases like this demonstrate how aerosol-delivery equipment can sometimes have applications well outside traditional adult respiratory care.

If you are looking for an inhaler chamber or respiratory interface for veterinary use, SleepEZ Home Health can help identify equipment options that you can discuss with your veterinarian.

Respiratory Equipment Is More Than the Machine

One of the biggest mistakes in respiratory home care is focusing entirely on the primary device.

A concentrator, nebulizer or CPAP machine may be the centre of the system, but everyday therapy often depends just as heavily on having the correct:

Cannula Tubing Mask Battery Filter Nebulizer Cup Holding Chamber Power Supply Replacement Column Connector Humidification Component

SleepEZ Home Health maintains these products because respiratory equipment requires ongoing support throughout its usable life.

Whether you need a new CPAP machine, Travel CPAP, portable oxygen concentrator, replacement Rove 6 battery, Inogen sieve bed, oxygen tubing, PARI nebulizer, pediatric inhaler chamber or a simple replacement connector, our goal is to help keep the complete respiratory system functioning properly.

Why do I need a holding chamber or spacer with my inhaler?

Metered-dose inhalers release medication very quickly. Without a spacer or holding chamber, the patient must coordinate pressing the inhaler with exactly the right part of the breath.

A holding chamber creates space between the inhaler and the patient's airway, slowing the aerosol and temporarily holding the medication so it can be inhaled more naturally.

What is the purpose of a spacer or holding chamber?

A holding chamber can:

  • Reduce the need to perfectly coordinate inhaler activation and breathing
  • Slow the aerosol before it reaches the mouth
  • Hold medication briefly while the patient inhales

What is oxygen therapy?

Oxygen therapy is the medical use of supplemental oxygen for patients whose body is not receiving enough oxygen from room air alone.

Oxygen may be delivered through:

  • A stationary oxygen concentrator
  • A portable oxygen concentrator
  • Compressed oxygen
  • Liquid oxygen systems in some settings

Oxygen is generally delivered through a nasal cannula or oxygen mask. The required oxygen flow or pulse setting should be determined by the patient's physician or respiratory-care team.

Which portable oxygen concentrators are FAA approved for air travel?

The Inogen Rove 6 and Inogen Rove 4 meet applicable FAA acceptance criteria for air travel.

Travellers should always confirm their exact machine and current requirements directly with their airline before departure.

Airlines may have requirements involving:

  • Advance notification
  • Battery capacity
  • Number of spare batteries
  • Battery protection during transport
  • Minimum battery runtime for the scheduled flight
Can I use my portable oxygen concentrator on an airplane?

If your portable oxygen concentrator meets applicable FAA acceptance criteria and your airline permits the specific model, it may generally be used onboard.

Patients should contact their airline before travelling because individual airlines may require documentation and may specify how much battery capacity must be carried.

Where can I buy Inogen Rove 6 batteries in Canada?

SleepEZ Home Health carries both standard and extended-capacity batteries for the Inogen Rove 6 and Inogen One G5.

The same battery platform is compatible with both machines.

Because column systems are model-specific, confirm your exact Inogen model before ordering.

How often do Inogen columns need to be replaced?

Many Inogen users encounter column replacement somewhere around 12–18 months, but there is no single interval that applies to every patient.

Column life varies with:

  • Hours of operation
  • Humidity
  • Storage
  • Usage frequency
  • Operating environment
  • Concentrator model

The concentrator's service indicator should ultimately determine when replacement is required.
